If you are in Ontario chances are you probably heard that there is a group that is trying to raise Ontario speed limits from 100 km/h to 120-130 km/h. If you are in Ontario please sign the petition and like their Facebook page.

Everybody does 120 anyway, so why not? (Driven 600 KM from Ottawa to Waterloo within the past month)

I think I already did once, but for good measure - Done!

Sure. This way you could do 140!

Why? I thought people on here would *want* the speed limits raised, right? Especially since Canada is much less dense than down here! Something about artificially low speed limits

Wrong!
There have been numerous studies that people set a reasonable prudent speed, and that many speed limits are artificially low mainly for political reasons.

So it would just be me then?

I can refute (3) since I live in Chicago. Everybody was either doing 25 KPH because they were on the Kennedy or they were doing 120 because they weren't.
Otherwise I was not aware of this and find it fascinating.

Don't end up like this guy. Sign it (I'm American but detest politically-set limits on very safe divided highways).

Yeah, it sounded confusing to me the first time. But they're trying to raise it, don't worry. The picture throws you off.

Oh, OK, yeah I get it now! Thank you for clearing it up!
I saw "raise the speed limit" and "petition" and it sounded like they were trying to stop the raising!
Now that I understand, I'd sign it, but I'm not Canadian!

You could just come see your next-door neighbours here in Quebec, we love it when you visit. We don't obey the speed signs, at all, ever, anywhere.

Did it once before, doing it again.
